Hello Mother, Hello Father......

On Monday morning I dropped our boy off to go to his first church camp. I remember going to a couple when I was younger and it didn't seem that hard, at the time. Now as a mom dropping off a child I see it as a whole new (scary, frightening, cried myself to sleep the night before he went) experience. He, on the other hand, was excited. He normally is a morning person (gets up by 6am without the use of an alarm clock) but this morning he set his alarm for 5 am. I told him that was to early and had him adjust it for 5:30 but when I went in his room to make sure he was up he had already taken a shower and was completely ready to go. Yeah..he was excited. So off we went to drop him off.

underwear.....mmmmoooooommm
embarrassing my son....check
R invited his buddy from school, J, to go with him.
His mom was just as nervous as I was.
"We are going to sit all the way in the back. Yeah cool."boys
"Well you know this bus has a bathroom in it right?" Dad
"That's so cool. I am going to use it while we are driving. Yeah me to." boys
"Well do you really want to sit in the back near the bathroom?" Dad
"Why not?" boys
"What if someone has to, you know, use it?" Dad
"So" boys
"What if they are in there a while and umm?" Dad
"Gross, what if the smell comes out to us. Lets sit towards the front. Yeah." boys
There are just some conversations that are better suited for boys and Dads.

My sunshine loves to laugh and make others laugh.

To cool to wave goodbye but right before they drove away
he did look right at me and smile.

Yay for church camp! The dropping off will be 100% easier from now on, I promise. You got over the hump!
