Happy 4th of July! Today I decided not to talk about this country we live in and where we are headed. Instead I decided to make a patriot drink in honor of this county and all the freedoms we have had and will continue to fight for. To everyone who has or is serving in the military I THANK YOU for your sacrifice and to those whose loved ones have never come home I THANK YOU for your sacrifice. I salute you with my Red, White and Blueberry Soda.

Yum, so what's the recipe? It looks delics!
It's so simple suzi. It's from Alton Brown (Good Eats). Take 4 cups blueberries and place in a saucepan with 2 cups of water. Bring to boil and then reduce heat and simmer for 15 min. Pour mixture into a cheescloth lined colander over a bowl and wait till mixtures cools then squeeze out most of the liquid. Then place liquid back in sauce pan (I threw my skins in the composter Tree thought to use them in muffins). Add 1 cup of sugar plus the juice of one lime and boil for 2 min. Then place in glass jar and place in fridge. Will last for a couple of months in the fridge. To drink simply pour 1/4 cup blueberry goodness into glass and add 8 oz carbonated water and serve over ice. When I added the little bit of whipped cream and then stirred it in it reminded me of an Italian Soda. Very, very yummy!! Enjoy!!
