Week of the Dogs

This last week our home felt like it was being overrun with dogs. Which is kind of crazy since we only had one extra dog with us. Our friends went out of town and we had the pleasure of watching their dog Curly. Of course before we even got her we had to tweak our backyard a little because over the last year or so we have figured out that individually both Sally and Curly are great dogs but when you get them together well that's a different story. (One likes to dig and the other likes to eat the drip lines) So we fixed our fence in the far back so that when we leave we can put them in the "back 40" where they can dig all they want and there are no drip lines to chew. Well you put these two adorable heads together and they found a way out. Sally squeezed through the side where the neighbors fence has a little give and then she cohorts Curly into finagling her way between the wood fence and the chicken wire we put on top of it. You probably ask how we know this?? Well they both left a little fur evidence at the scene of the crimes. So after one day together we had to fix the fence and figure out how to keep them in the far back. We did and they stayed...all was well. The great part about having the two dogs is they wear each other out. At night they are exhausted.

Today Curly goes home and a little something will be missing from our family...until we go over there for dinner tonight and bring Sally with us.

CakePops!!

I am involved in a fabulous bible study called CBS. I teach the three and four year old class with my wonderful team teacher Jenny. (She is from England and has a gorgeous accent.) I can't believe that as this school year ends so does my sixth year with them. I am excited about next year because we will be studying Revelations. God's timing is so perfect. Every month the leader get together after our class and have a luncheon together. We rotate between the children's teachers and the core group leaders (women's groups) and we provide a great lunch. For the most part the meals are always themed. This last one we had we did it around the theme of princesses. Now I know I am a princess, not because my family has royal blood lines but because I my FATHER the THE KING. It was fun. We had little cucumber sandwiches and chocolate covered strawberries..just to name a few of our mouth watering choices. I decided to branch out and make something I have never made before. I made CakePops from the bakerella web site. They tasted fabulous but being the perfectionist that I am I was a little disappointed that they were not perfect. Well at least to my eyes. The ladies loved them and they were the perfect addition to an already "princessy table" (is that a word..princessy??).
